Things we really know we should leave well alone...but yet still we enter into.. - A brill book with lot s of real life experiences to boot. Anyone who has read this book will recognise oneself in any of the many stories. However i did find it somewhat annoying that some of the ladies dare i say it really pathetic in realtionships that were obviously no good. The more i read the more i got mad...its like watching a soap and shouting at the T.V lolzz. But on a serious note you can avoid many of the danger zones if you are brutally honest with not only yourself but with any potential relationship. Dr Cornish encourages this to the max and one that we should heed. I will and have recommended this book to a few people as it is one you should every now and again draw reference upon.

Women out there listen up! - I cried and cried for days after reading this book dr cornish you are an wonderful person i could not believe but not only one, two examples but at least six different examples were from this book and was exactly to what had happen in my past relationship i was so happy and blessed really this book because it not only taught me about relationships it has gave me a greater insight about my own personal relationship i had been struggling for years with which i finally had to let go.Not only am i a happy person within my self but now i am a happy person in a happy relationship it took me ten years to find my soul mate and thanks to you dr cornish i have. I have a loving husband , a loving job, a loving family and a baby on the way.To anyone reading this it is that easy if i can do it so can please just believe in yourself and god and you will find the right person because i did and i never want to go back to my own life. I believe there is someone out there for everybody because i did find my soul mate for life. The book could change your relationship and even your life.

Wonderful! It was like talking with my sister! - This is a wonderful book for any African-American woman who has dealt with abusive and rocky relationships with black men. After the author discuss various senarios, at the end of the book she wonderfully points out that we should not go through excessive changes to get men in high places. We need to love ourselves first, and then everything else will fall in place. In God s time. With a lot of self-love, we can become women of high achievement, on our own! On our own merit! Scary, but I know it to be true. I was once one of the sisters outlined in this author s book. I had the have the man with the BIG JOB, the BIG CAR, the BIG BANK ROLL, ETC. I learned the hard way, instead, of basking in someone else s spotlight create your own! The author brought this point out thorougly.I never met the author, but it was like my best girl friend was speaking to me. I will definitely recommend this book to my sister-friends, nieces, and other women. I will also buy this author s next book! Actually, I look forward to its publishing. One last thing, this author lost her mom at an early age through the hands of her mother s abusive boyfriend. She actually witnessed her mother s murder. Through time and her father s love, she made it through. Just think, that alone should be encouragement for us all. This is a strong sister, a survivor! YOU GO GIRL!!Your sister-friend,MaryAnn Jackson, San Diego, CA
